Hi Mutschy!
The topic of the Ducati Energia ignition system has been known in Poland for 10 years. The ignition system from the old Malaguti scooters (with the sensor placed inside the flywheel) is the best choice, because the flywheel is adapted to work with the same direction of rotation as in the Simson engine. The alternator is designed to supply alternating current (bulb 35 / 35W or 45 / 40W in headlight) and battery charging (about 20W). Like the VAPE, it is not suitable for powering the lighting from the battery (insufficient charging).
The only problem is the need to make a new stator base plate (adapter). The different crankshafts have different lengths of the conical shaft, so be aware of the minimum distance between the sensor (pick-up) and the inner face of the flywheel (about 3 mm). In Poland, a significant number of original stator Ducati Energia was destroyed by rubbing wires and the ignition sensor by the flywheel, as a result of irresponsible assembly.
The flywheel has an notch for the 3 mm Woodruff key (in the Simson engine - 2 mm). The flywheel can be machined or mounted without a key (on the cone itself).
Alternatively, you can use the ignition system from the Minarelli AM6 or Piaggio D50B0 engine (Langfang Kokusan, aka LFK), but due to the different direction of rotation of the flywheel ignition can be unstable under certain conditions. You can buy a new set without a problem. The ignition system from the Malaguti scooters is currently difficult to access in Poland.
At present, the "zapłon CDI" from Turbozabytki dominates in Poland. These are ignition systems from scooters 50/125 cm³ 2T / 4T made in China, which can be adapted to almost all old motorcycles (MZ, Jawa, Panonia, WSK). Due to the ignition sensor located outside the magnetic wheel, it can not be installed in Simson engines.
By the way, I would like to thank you for a few things from your website.

Jedyny kłopot to konieczność wykonania nowej płyty podstawy statora (adaptera).
Pozdrawiam.
